A fine refreshment!
I struggled a lot about this plug-in trying to understand if it would be useful for my work and also if the bill wast worth of it...
Well, now I finally got it and I'm quite surprised as it delivers so much and in a totally new refreshing way!
Surprisingly useful, great sounding and very innovative tool! No regrets at all!

Tight studio - big studio
Makes it easier to work with a tight studio, knowing that OW can create air in the mix if needed!

Great for DX bus
As a room modeler I did a test of this against some of the other reverbs I use for room verbs on a film I just did. It went up against Reverberate, TL, Phoenix, and Lex. It tied for room reverbs with Reverberate, but won out easily on usability. Lex is more musical (to me) so it wasn't a fair comp. Phoenix had more specialized presets, but as to day to day rooms on my dialogue bus I found Ocean Way to be the easiest to mix into a standard interior room conversation between characters in a film.

Fantastic and Unique Plugin
I didn't think that I was going to like this, but it is great. I use it on every track, to varying degrees, and it really helps to shape the song in a way that I just can't do with conventional reverbs.

My project studio has now got a live room! Stunning!
After doing lot's of research I decided to go down the Apollo/UAD plugins route.
I'm so glad I did. I'm now finding my recording have more life.
Recording a new Blues Album this year and will be calling UAD for sponsorship!
Keep up the great work!

Absolutely Essential
I've recorded in a lot of rooms that are big and small. No reverb I've tried has come close to the nuances and tonal qualities of a good room.
This thing comes close. Close enough for me to say it's ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL.

Great they make something like this
I got the "Ocean Way Studios" just a month ago, but it's already the plugin I go to for drum and vocal room sounds. It just adds that extra space and sounds so realistic. I always wonder how they do it. I recorded a vocaltrack with my Neumann U47 and compared it to the U47 simulation and the sound was so close, I would almost say identical, but on the "Ocean Way Studios" I had also that great room. But that was the only difference I could hear. I guess I have not checked out all the possibilities "Ocean way" offers, but I don't want to miss it. Like the LA-2A and the Neve 1073 and the 1176s.
Get it and have fun with it.

My drum kit sound more realistic than ever before
I don't have much to add to the many positive reviews already logged here. I simply want to agree that the Ocean Way plug-in is truly groundbreaking, exceptionally exciting, and will become one of the true workhorses in my UAD collection. I have used the stellar EMT140 plug, Space Designer convolutions, etc, with good success. But the OW plug makes the drums come ALIVE. Being able to mix and match 3 sets of room mics, at variable distances in a choice of spaces and orientations, is wonderful. I admit I have not worked inside Ocean Way or other such world-class recording spaces, but my ears tell me this is pure magic. Looking forward to trying on vocals, guitars, horns... everything. One of the best plug-ins out there.

Magic or Aliens?
My first test of the Ocean Way Studios plug-in was on an older mix that I was not pleased with. In particular, the drum room from a particular drum library sounded absolutely horrid. I used OWS in reverb mode just to see how it would work, and after plugging in Room B - Drums 2, it sounded like a brand new set of drums. It replaced the bombastic noise with musical qualities. It actually made a rotten drum library sound amazing. I keep having to listen to the new mix almost in awe of the new drum sound going, "how did it do that? Was it magic or aliens?"
This should be a must-have in any UAD owner's toolkit.

Ear Honey!
I appreciate lots of UAD plugins - but this one's a jaw-dropper! It transforms tracks from my project studio, or recorded on locations, to sounding like they were made in great rooms. I particularly love what it can do with a group of voices, adding presence, resonance, depth and integration. I don't think this one can be topped for the dramatic improvement it brings to a mix.
Many thanks!

Sample Enhancement
In this modern digital age of sampling, it is often the clinical sounds of the samples of instruments that you can quite often say that they are too raw and more often than I would like to admit the synthesized versions sometimes have the edge... However with this plug in all of my very expensive libraries have taken on a new dimension, to the point clients are bemused at how I am able to get such resources of musicians for their recordings, of course that is not the case... Using the Mic settings and the natural ambience of the studios really enhances the samples and certainly give a quality of resonance to the recordings having been processed through this plugin... This is by far a plugin that I reach for every time... I could write more!!

Very special plugins
Gives presences and depth to anything you put on especially drums, bass gtr , acoustic gtr, lead vox and percussion. Just spend little time with it and you will happy you got it.

My "every session" plug-in
Wow. I don't know what is going on in there, and I probably don't want to. I haven't been to Ocean Way, though I *have* driven past it! I'm 100% confident that the sound of a recording of me driving put through this plugin sounds exactly like it did when I drove by (Ask Alan Sides) LOL. Seriously though, I love this plug-in, and I'm still exploring the many options that it has. I'm really glad that it is flexible enough to noodle with but also has great presets. I've heard a lot of people describe it as great "glue" plug-in, and I agree. It kind of gives you that opportunity to put everything in the same space in a really natural sounding (to me) way. This plug-in is to software what the SPL Transient Designer was to hardware - pure magic.

You won't sound dry anymore
Well, when I saw this plugin come out, I was a bit surprised ; How did this work, is this worth it ?
Damn... It's one of my favourite plugins of all time ! This is just incredible, it adds so much character in all of your tracks. My drumkit won't sounds dry anymore, and that's not the better thing of it : We've got the sound of Ocean Way Studio.
This is really cool on virtual synths, it remove the "digital/robotic" charisma for a more realistic sounding track.
The only downside that I can think about is the CPU charge. 1 instance per core, with my Octo, 8 instances max. It's not because I want more, it's because when you use it, you don't have much more for the others plugins. That's a shame. But not enough to cost one star though !

Indispensable
After demo-ing this plugin many times, I was finally able to purchase it on sale. It is indispensable for my workflow. I mix a lot of drums that are recorded in a small, dead room, and this brings them to life. Other IR reverbs can come close to certain sounds, but they have never been nearly as easy to use as Ocean Way and with the different mics and other features Ocean Way goes above and beyond. A unique plugin that makes getting great room sounds fun and intuitive.
