works wonderfully

added this when I bought my octo, love the remike feature, takes a bit of my resources, but with the octo I still have plenty of bandwidth

Nothing else like it.

No other reverb I had in my arsenal was as realistic as Ocean Way. Not even close. It's a must have. I've used it on drums, live horns, guitars, vocals......everything that needed it. It really makes me just shake my head in disbelief it's that good.

WOW!

This one is a HOG, and that's why I don't rate it 5 stars. BUT what it does to help keyboard strings sound realistic is simply amazing!

Could have been more simple but sounds amazing

Lots of different settings can be done and it could have been a bit more easy to use for a beginner like myself. But nevertheless it sounds great.

Good, but only find myself using it for ambience

This plugin sounds great, but it is not as versatile as I expected it to be based on the price. For now I've only found myself using it to add ambience to dull close-mic'ed sources.

MIght Use DSP However, We Used To Bounce In The Old Days

Now you simply create the ambience and or sound you need, and record to one of the near endless tracks we are graced with these days.

The Ocean Way Plugin did a very nice job of helping to add a more believable timbre to a cheesy string patch in a track I'm mixing at the moment.

Anything that helps speed a session along while improving the sounds in question is what should be considered a useful tool.

This is going to come in quite handy at times!

Thank you U.A.

The Ocean Way rooms sound lovely, and there is enough flexibility (mic types, positions, EQ) to get whatever you need in the way of authentic ambience. My only gripe is that there is no level meter so you can't see what's going in or coming out. Maybe an idea for the next version?

Incredible Space

I picked this plugin based on the adamant recommendation of a buddy who also uses it. I've been so attached to IR reverbs that I haven't thought much about other ways to use rooms or reverbs.

What an incredible and subtle way to shape room sounds. The method of being able to use 3 different locations and/or mics is really awesome. It gives an incredible feel of space. I've been using it for drums and vocals mostly so far. But I can certainly envision using it for other things as well.

I haven't read the entire manual yet, so I don't know if the source can be moved in the room. If so, its not intuitive. Otherwise this would be an awesome feature to add.

Get this plugin - you won't be disappointed.

Great Room

Definitely my go-to for room ambience. Being able to commit it down during tracking with the apollo is also a plus.

Realistic, blends well

Realistic, blends well. Can't beat the Bricasti's but the best plugin out there for this use.

Very specific uses

I tried this plugin several times before I decided to purchase it. Every time I tried it I struggled between loving the sound and not finding a real use for it. Even after purchasing it I still don't use it as much as I should. I think at this stage I will mainly use it for re-micing digital instruments to make them feel more real, but do it offline to save DSP. I would like to use it more as a reverb unit but it is so heavy on DSP one or two instances is all you will get.

So far so good

I'm still finding my way around this one. I've used it as a reverb to get more of a real "room" sound for fiddle and guitar, and with a bit a tweaking one of the presets I've hit on something I really like. Many more possibilities to be explored, surely. Good job, lads.

Really great, but miss multiple outputs

This is a really cool plugin, love the re-mic mode, which is like being in the studio, moving mikes around. Only reason it doesn't get 5 starts is that unfortunately the big difference with a studio situation is that you cannot process the mid and far mikes separate (except for volume/pan/phase). I hope UA will update the plugin with multiple outputs like a lot of VI have.

My room in my Mac just got bigger

To have Ocean Way studio rooms in my Mac. Wow!

My small room though well tuned is no match for the 2 rooms at Ocean Way California. IR/simulation is the closes I can get.

I have never been there, but Its the effort made tracking the 2 rooms that has my attention and tells me how useful the sim will be for me.

Thanks Allen and UAD, I have some line level gear that have benefited from your effort.

Ocean Way

So far it's proving yo be really nice i'm not sure about some of the re micing claims and how accurate they are but if it sound good then job done, i find myself using it a lot more to be creative and twist sounds around which it is fantastic for, however its still early days so i would need to live with it a lot longer to be fair....The price is quite hefty so i can't really be sure of value for money that being said i am a total UADer so i guess i'm trapped and like a lot of the other reviewers a little biased

watch it,it can drain you dsp

I love it,I love the way instruments and vocals sound with it,and i know i need more time working with it because it might seem simple, but it is not a simple reverb at all....the big downfall is that you need almost a full UA satellite quad dedicated to it,it drains dsp....

Ocean Way/perfect room replacer

I have the Ocean Way Rooms for three weeks now and I´m goin to love it. It`s a perfect tool for replacing, as example drums, if u don`t like your drum room mics, take your close mics and build your own room, great.
But sometimes if you don`t have a perfekt equalized signal it`s not so easy to find a good sound, I think room A is a bit muffly and then I´m getting problems in the midrange of the mix. But you can fix that easy with a eq or maybe you guys don`t have that kind of problem, but I like to control the room frequencies with a Multiband behind the ocean way, it becomes more dynamic.
At least I have to experiment much more with this tool, it`s a must have Room plugin.
Have fun

Nice space!

Overall I liked it and used it with some success in certain situations. For sure better than the DreamVerb, but please UAD, take it to the next level and give us a convolution reverb that will be #1 on this planet... thanks!
