A to B Test UA Apollo vs Apogee Symphony
Before I purchased the UA Apollo I had the privilege to A B both units and I got to say I cannot be more than happy with my UA Apollo I'm coming from an Mbox 3 pro and believe me if your an engineer you can get great sound out of any piece of gear, But my UA Apollo hands down has to be the best interface I've ever worked with, the sound I manage to get out of the UA Apollo is truly 100% Professional High end Studio Quality "Believe The Hype" (Remember when your buying gear don't go by other people's threads and posts). Universal Audio Nailed it with this one. Two Thumbs up to!!

Great Interface
Gotta say I'm very impressed with the Apollo! No comparison to my previous interface ! The converters are very clean, smooth and detailed in comparison , did'nt realize the harshnes I had before! Having the option to place effects in the mixer prior to my DAW is very cool ! I Love it!!!

Apollo 8
I have been searching for years for a reasonably priced, professional, portable audio interface. A interface that would work equally well live, as it does in the studio. In a market inundated with 'toy'ish" interfaces, The Apollo 8 truly is the first realistically priced quality interface. Making the decision to add 4 high end, totally transparent pres, instead of 8 barley useable pre-amps makes all the sense in the world. The absolutely transparent conversion, easy to navigate layout are very well designed. Plus the UAD Quad makes the Apollo the best piece of equipment I have purchased in years.

THANKS UNIVERSAL AUDIO, you did a great job, but there are some features I like to see and I hope most of you would like them too so we can let the Universal Audio develop team do what THEY like to do: making this wonderful product even better.
1. Make all even channel in the console a slightly darker to reduce the chance that you turn a knob from a wrong channel by accident.
2. Give all HP and Aux Knobs different colours so you always knows that the vocal mix is red for example. Also Value levels for the HP and Aux sends would be a great.
3. Possibility of naming channels, so you don’t have to memorise that ADAT 2 is the snare.
4. The possibility to switch the Auxiliary to pre-fader so you can make four separate monitor mixes.

Awsomeness!
Best audio interface I've used so far. Superior sound quality and very user friendly. Best plug-ins on the market to date. The only thing that makes it 4 out of 5 is the lack of MIDI connections.

Apollo is stellar!
I've now been recording with Apollo for a week or so, and find it to be everything and more that I hoped it would be. You guys did it again!
I'd like to pass along some suggestions, some of which apply specifically to Apollo, others to UAD in general:
1. Allow for the vertical as well as horizontal re-sizing of the Console. There are times when I don't need to see the Sends, or Pans, for example.
2. Organize the plug-ins for the Console according to type. The first group that comes up could be the EQ's, for example. Next, the Compressors, etc. Doing this would save quite a bit of "eye scrolling."
3. Create Pre-set Chains. Consult with your world-class producers and engineers on what they like for vocals, guitars, etc.

Apollo lifts your sound
This unit makes everything sound better, more real and seems to lift the sound to a new level, so you know the D-A side is great. It also has clean transparent pre-amps with A-Ds that don't seem to do any colouring either. The two headphone amps are also very useable. Add to that the well thought out Console app and access to great plug-ins on the UAD format and you have a fantastic package, that I'd thoroughly recommend to anyone.

Huge difference
Before at had doubt about my hole setup with a digi003 as my soundcard, and a couple og ATC SCM2O PRO as nearfield monitors. I was about to sell it all and start all over again. I am happy that I first got rit of the digi003 and replacing it with an Apollo interface, because, now my ATC´s started sounding as I could ever dream. Absolut perfektion of what I intented it to be from the start.
My ATC´s revealed, how bad sounding the digi003 was, and how good sounding the Apollo is. HUGE DIFFERENCE
I have made A/B test´s before between my digi003 and other converters, but nothing have ever comed near the sound quality of the Apollo interface. The Plugs are also the best i have ever heard.

How can you explain?
It's like the old teacher said, "You can't see this place from that place."
For someone who is used to using keyboards with every built-in thing under the sun, you can't explain that UA's Apollo allows you to have "that sound" regardless of where you go. The features don't matter if you gear gives you fits every time you try to adjust the sound.
Here it is. With the UA Apollo, I added the Little Labs VOG to my lead singer's microphone. I could add a bump at 200hz with the built-in EQ in my system, but with Apollo and the VOG plug-in, all of a sudden, my singer's voice sounded rich and creamy. WOW. What a difference! Everything works the same way, awesome!

Hardware for Sale
I've been using UAD plug ins for years. They are such an essential part of my workflow that I'm not sure I could accomplish much without them at this point. I love the fidelity and the familiarity of my analog gear, but the flexibility, authenticity, and instance count of the UAD plug ins is too much to deny. Finally with the Apollo I can use their plug ins on the front end of a project. Its great when technology actually makes your life simpler. Thanks UA

Apollo Quad... why did it take me so long?
I am loving to use my Apollo quad! It has changed everything on my mixes! The plugins
are just amazing! I love the Studer and the Neve 88rs! But my favorite so far is the Farchild compressor... you cannot go wrong with that! It will make anything sound full and booty.

this has to be the best upgrade for my studio! this hardware made my mixes 10 times better and made my music sound a whole lot better! i can hear things in my music I've never heard before! thanks UA for making such a great product!

Apollo - problems with routing
Sound is great - but cannot find solution to send (route) the headphone sound to any outputs like 7-8 or 5-6, so sending the headphone sound to the recording room needs adapters etc, not pretty.
Also problem to attach two piece of 4-710 D in same time to two optical inputs when go on 48 khz 24 bit. Just ununderstandable, why cannot do it just if you go on 88,2 or higher...
By the way it is not bad.
