Serious upgrade!
This is a serious piece, especially upgrading to this from the original Digi 003R interface. Best gear purchase I've made in a while and can't wait to acquire the SSL channel and the Thunderbolt card to increase my plugin count! In addition, UA has stellar service and continuous vouchers available on their site to grab the next essential piece for my mix work! UA rules!

UAD Apollo Quad
With the purchase of UAD Apollo Quad, vocal tracking has never been better at Eniko Entertainment studio. I am very happy I traded my Apogee Ensemble for this unit. The Apollo is one of the best studio investment I've ever made. Thanks UAD for making such a great product at a decent price.

My UAD Satellite was overloaded on every single project (using these awesome plugin on almost every channel), so now i'm more than happy to have another QUAD in my studio!! I happily received a 997$ (+ "usual" 100$) voucher and could shop in a really custom way...! This is an unbeatable package at this price!!!

Incredible All-Around Interface
I upgraded to the Apollo Quad after hearing about it from many trusted friends, and the plug-in promo didn't hurt either. I'm amazed by this machine, the converters are top-notch and it's built very well. I would highly recommend this interface to all interested parties, worth the money.

Simple & efficient
For my use with this interface, allows me to save space in my studio.
I work almost all digital (optical) except for the instruments and hardware machine.
The preamps are very good quality, nothing to say, at the Harmony total distortion (THD).
Missing lot details,
not midi in/out for sync hardware effects older.
Aux outputs so only 2 channels when have 8 outputs.
Adat not complete for second light-pipe.
it is still an interface war :)

I was on the search for a new audio converter and I came across the Apollo.
I was not sure if I would like to buy a first generation product, but the promotion plus some YouTube reviews affected my decision to get it,
I am not happy that I had to buy a separate MIDI hardware because the Apollo does not have MIDI I/O.
I would hope for a $2500.00 price tagI can get more analog inputs and preamps.
I am comparing it to the Fireface 800 by RME.
To summarize,
There is a learning curve here and I am not yet have a feel for the device.
I hope the converters plus the UA plug ins can really work for me.
I was taking a risk by buying it and I hope it would pay off.

Amazingly clear sound and wide spread field.
I bought this interface as an upgrade from a Fireface 400.
I have to say that it definetively sounds different, i don´t know if "better", but it indeed sounds different.
it has more deffinition on the lower mids, and a lot of deffinition in the high freqs. However, i do miss something about the bass response going only at 20 hz. Besides of that, the product is quite nice.
I´ve had a couple of problems working with it on windows, but nothing a restart didn´t solved.

It's a 5 all the way once you update the console flexibility
So I just got the quad apollo which included the Studer Tape machine plug...
That plug-in alone is a game changer. After years in a facility with a 2" machine
I've been missing that analog sound..I've toyed with rolling mixes to 1/4' decks to get the bump and while that was ok it's nothing compared to the tweaking that happens in the Studer. From tape speed choices to Repro EQ tweaking- its just killer.
I was just finishing a project when the apollo arrived...i quickly printed stems and ran the studer across 8-10 stereo stems and was blown away.
The only thing I want now is the ability to stems mix back THRU the Apollo Mixer.
Needs to happen in a software update. Check out Metric Halo's console software- that's my suggestion. THANKS!

Universal Audio Apollo Duo
Absolutely incredible sound, upgraded from my Focusrite, has given me such great flexibility with the plug ins when recording vocalists. Love the pre amps and the plug ins are really awesome. Just wish I could afford to buy a few more to really make the most of it!

Sounds Amazing
Love the sound of it, i used to work with a Digi 002 and now my old mixes are getting a new perspective, wider and deeper, alot pleasant to work with the apollo, because i can hear the detail, and the real relation between instruments. The plugins sounds very real.
All the things i can say about the apollo are good things, the only bad thing is that the internal dsp Works only with UA plugs, thats a shame because youll pay for a allmost unused processor unless you spend alot more money in UA plugs.

Beautiful when its not crashing.
I use pro tools 10' win7. I love the sound of the apollo very clean and the plugins are very powerful. I get constant errors using plugins within a session. I bought this thing for the sound quality and also,the plugins. I know its a software issue becuase i bought oth the recommended firewire pcie cards. Same errors: device error 50 and 84. I hope they come up with an update soon to fix this because i would hate to return this interface.

Firewire Cable
The Apollo High-Resolution Interface with Realtime UAD Processing is a great unit in every way but the most important way. The firewire cable that comes with the unit has a (fit) issue when it come to use with a Macbook Pro. The cable sits well in the firewire 800 connection to the UAD unit but to my laptop it is not a tight fit. There are occasional firewire alerts of "improper disconnect" because there is too much give. Not a good thing when my audio drives are on the chain and I can see them drop out. I have since replace that cable with a Belkin 800/800. Rating Unit: 4 Cable:0

Apollo Quad Is the BEST!
I am very pleased and impressed with the Apollo Quad. The plug-ins included in the march 2013 promotion were just amazing for the price and also the added coupons in the store just put the icing on the cake. I am very impressed with the customer service and ease of use and set-up/registration. All in all it took me less than an hour to download all drivers and to configure the quad to exactly how I wanted.
Keep up the great work UA, you have a new customer for life and I've already recommended your products to all that I know and I'm saving now for one of your 4 channel tube/trans pre-amps (4110)!
