Universal Audio Releases All‑New LUNA Instruments and Extensions

LUNA Instruments and Extensions include Neve® Summing, Studer® Multitrack Tape, Moog® Minimoog, Ravel, and more —

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA • May 27, 2020 — Universal Audio (UA), a leading manufacturer of professional audio recording hardware and software, is proud to release all-new LUNA Instruments and Extensions, exclusively for UA’s flagship music production application, LUNA Recording System.

LUNA Sessions give users an inside look at Grammy-winning mix approaches. After downloading the free session files in the LUNA app, users can see first-hand how a professional mix is constructed — from soloing individual instruments or MIDI tracks to seeing Unison technology, bus routing, and plug-in chains in action, LUNA Sessions give users detailed mix insight to adopt into their own workflow.

LUNA Extensions

Far beyond plug-ins, LUNA Extensions are built into the fabric of LUNA's mixer, offering authentic analog sounds and workflows without having to manage multiple plug‑in windows

Neve Summing — $299

Developed in partnership with AMS Neve exclusively for LUNA Recording System, Neve Summing Extension emulates the entire summing circuit of an iconic Neve 80 series console — including its coveted 1272 bus amplifiers — giving users all the color of Neve's most cherished analog desk.

Studer A800 Multichannel Tape Recorder — $349*

Offering the punch and texture of magnetic tape on any audio or instrument track, the Studer A800 Tape Recorder Extension also features per-track Saturation controls to add harmonics, and master controls like Tape Formula, Tape Speed (IPS), and more for the most accurate representation of multitrack analog tape recording available.

LUNA Instruments

Bringing UA’s expertise in modeling, sampling, and synthesis to software instruments, LUNA Instruments offer a new level of realism.

Moog Minimoog — $299

Developed in partnership with Moog Music, and available exclusively for LUNA and Apollo interfaces, the Moog Minimoog LUNA Instrument faithfully captures every nuance and anomaly of the original hardware using Universal Audio's industry-leading circuit modeling, synthesis, and signal processing

Ravel — $299

Universal Audio's first acoustic instrument model, Ravel is a breathtaking emulation of a Steinway Model B grand piano. Captured using UA’s proprietary UltraResonance™ technology, Ravel goes far beyond other piano plug-ins and sample libraries with its unprecedented realism and dynamics, giving users album-ready sonics and inspiring playability.

LUNA includes a host of additional sounds and extensions, available pre-installed for free in the LUNA app. UA’s Oxide Tape Recorder, ARP MIDI Arpeggiator, and Shape — a curated sonic toolkit featuring vintage keys, percussion, guitars, orchestral content, and more — give users a melange of inspiring free sounds, available the moment they open LUNA.
